The day offers an opportunity to learn more about the facts, the methods of prevention, as well as helping remove the stigma and discrimination associated with HIV. Here at the Health Library we have numerous resources related to the subject. In the lists below you’ll find our most popular items, information on materials recently added to our collection and periodicals related to AIDS and HIV. Finding Journal Articles – Using Databases

We often get asked how to find journal articles on a particular subject and users often seem to think that it is something that you can do in a couple of minutes. But you need a little more time to get to grips with the tools and techniques to search effectively. Even though we have lots of journals on the shelves, searching for articles isn’t a case of wandering along the shelves and picking out a journal that looks interesting. You need to search an index and the indexes are maintained on bibliographic databases. So… to do effective searches for journal articles you need to get to grips with online databases . Start by having a look at our FAQs – check the section on Finding Resources You can watch our introduction videos on using Internurse and using Cinahl   in our tutorials section Using Resources Don’t forget that we have a number of training courses that you can book on. And our training librarians are there to support you if you need more help – just allow more than 5
