More Opening Hours Starting Soon

We have increased our opening hours at the weekend. The Health Library will now be open 10am to 10pm on Saturdays and Sundays. New weekend opening hours start Saturday 4 th October You can: Use the self-service facility to check out books, return items and pay fines Use the photocopiers and printers Use the IT suite Staff support will be limited at certain times   Remember that you enter the Health Library via the side-door during the weekend. You will need your Keele or Library card to use the swipe access. Use the side-entrance at weekends

World Alzheimer’s Day

21 st September 2014 Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia. As yet there is no known cure and its symptoms eventually lead to death. At this present time there are approximately 2.8 million people living with this life changing disease globally. September 2014 marks the third World Alzheimer’s Month and on 21st September it is World Alzheimer’s Day. Every year on 21st September, Alzheimer’s associations from across the world unite to recognise World Alzheimer’s day the aim of which is to raise awareness globally and challenge the stigma associated with it. Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

September 2014 Each year in the UK almost three hundred children die as a result of cancer and each week almost one hundred children are told they have cancer. Being diagnosed with cancer is a very frightening experience the result of which can have considerable emotional, practical and financial implications for the whole family. September 2014 is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and there will be a number of differing events across the UK that aim to raise awareness of childhood cancer, its impact and also highlight the benefits of helping children spend more time at home.
