Reminder about Disruption to the Library 1st & 2nd March

Just a reminder that the long awaited refurbishment to the Health Library will be taking place during Tuesday 1 st and Wednesday 2 nd March. There will be some disruption to services as the work is carried out. Disruption will include: CLOSURE of: Rotunda – there will be no access to book stock and print journals by library members Silent Study room – there will be no access to the silent study room Still OPEN: IT Suite Training Room Self-Service Main Library Counter CHANGES: Study space – study rooms within the CEC have been booked for use by library members, ask at the library counter Access to the book stock and printed journals – if possible and safe to do so a member of staff will be available to retrieve stock from restricted areas The following services will be unaffected: Book returns and renewals Inter-library loan requests Requesting a book Literature Search Requests Training IT Suite Printing & photocopying We

More eJournal Updates for NHS

There have been a few more publisher changes to our ejournals subscribed for our NHS users: Archives of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation – you can now access this via Clinical Key (UHNM only) Chest – this is now available via Elsevier SicenceDirect, rather than the publisher's website. This can now be accessed via Athens username, for UHNM only Journal of Hand Surgery (Eur ed) – this is no longer a subscribed title. Note that the American edition is available via Clinical Key (UHNM only) Medicine – you can now access this via Clinical Key (UHNM only) Surgery UK– you can now access this via Clinical Key (UHNM only) Diabetes Care – this has been withdrawn from the Ovid collection by the publisher. We are currently seeking an alternative supplier. You can find any ejournal title available to your trust by checking on the  NHS My Journals list .

Ovid eJournal Updates for NHS

We have renewed most of the titles from our Ovid collection of ejournals. Access to Science Direct eJournals has moved

Our NHS subscription to Elsevier Science Direct ejournals has now moved to Clinical Key. If you are used to accessing the specific titles in Science Direct you can now access those titles in Clinical Key. These ejournals are available to UHNM staff only. The relevant links in the NHS My Journals list and NICE HDAS have been updated. You will still need your Athens username. If you require any assistance please contact the eresources librarian or the training team at the Health Library.

NHS Access to the Lancet online

The subscription to the Lancet is no longer part of the NHS Core Content and the current journal is no longer available via Science Direct. UHNM users can now access the Lancet via the new Clinical Key collection, including current full-text. Other NHS users can access the Lancet via the Proquest database where there is a 60 day embargo to the full-text. To access the title you will need your NHS Athens username. You can find all available ejournal titles via the NHS Journals list .

Electives (Medicine, Nursing, Midwifery) - no change to library loan rules

If you are embarking on an elective in the coming weeks, to ensure you do not incur any fines it is advisable to return your books to the library before starting your placement. Students are welcome to continue to borrow items, but please be aware that normal requirements to renew items, normal loan periods, and the possibility that items will be recalled or fines incurred for late return/renewal, will still apply.
