Changes to the library catalogue and your library account

The Health Library and Keele University are changing to a new library system and catalogue.

Our new catalogue ‘Library Search’ will be available for you to use from 4th July.

As part of the change – the way library loans are managed will change from 4th July onwards.

To keep track of your due dates, you will need to log into your library account online by:

  • Going to the library website www.keele.ac.uk/healthlibrary
  • Click ‘Library Search’.
  • Click on ‘Sign in’ in the top right hand corner, and click ‘NHS users’ in the next screen.
  • The credentials you will need to sign in to your account will be the same as you currently use – your library card barcode is your User ID.
  • Once signed in click on ‘My Account’ and your list of current loans and due dates will display.

If you have any problems logging in please contact the library and we will look into it, tel: 01782 679500.

Beginning 4th July library loans should start to automatically renew if they have not been requested by another user, and there are no other issues with your account that would bar renewal. If they do not renew you will receive a communication indicating that the item(s) need to be returned.

If you wish you may also re-set your library account password. Please contact the library after 4th July for information.

Please be aware that whilst the new library systems are being implemented there will be  disruption to the provision of library services from 27th June to 3rd July.

The week commencing 4th July is likely to be very busy. Your patience whilst we work through this implementation is appreciated.

NHS access to AMED has moved

AMED is the  Allied and complementary medicine database, providing abstracts covering subjects within allied health therapies as well as some nursing topics. This has previously been provided to NHS staff via the Ovid platform. Access to this database has now moved to the Proquest Dialog platform; note that this is different from the Proquest platform that we currently use for other databases. AMED is provided by NHS England as part of the NHS core content collection. Proquest provide additional help to using their resources on this website . All relevant links have been updated in the NHS Resources page on the Health Library website . You will need your NHS openAthens login to access this database.
