NHS eJournal Changes for 2017

We have had a few changes this year regarding our NHS journal subscriptions as detailed below:

Main packages:

  • Ovid Journals – 7 subscriptions have been terminated, while 46 have been renewed.
  • Oxford Journals – the subscription to the Oxford Medical Collection has been terminated, however we have retained access to 10 of the most used titles.
  • Clinical Key – this subscription has been retained for UHNM staff, and includes access to over 600 journal titles

Individual Titles:
Nine (9) individual titles have been terminated, while 34 have been renewed.

Databases:
Databases allow you to search bibliographic information as well as provide access to some full-text articles. The main databases that NHS staff can access include the following:

  • Ebsco Medline Complete
  • AMED
  • BNI
  • Cinahl
  • Embase
  • Healthcare Business Elite
  • HMIC
  • Medline
  • Proquest Hospital Collection
  • Proquest PsyArticles
  • PsychInfo

There has been a delay in renewing some titles this year. Please let us know if you are experiencing problems accessing a specific title. Remember that all the journal titles are listed on the NHS A-Z journals list.

Oxford specialist handbooks added to NHS ebook collection

 The Oxford Medicine Online ebook collection, subscribed to by NHS England, has been extended to include the Specialist Handbook series. This collection is available to all NHS staff via your NHS OpenAthens username. Link to the collection via our eBooks page .
