New improved BNF and BNFc app launched

Pharmaceutical Press have developed a new and improved app for the BNF (British National Formulary) and BNFc (British National Formulary for Children) . It is a single app that allows you to switch between the BNF and BNFc. Features are listed as: Offline browsing and searching of content of the BNF and BNFC The ability to switch between adult and child content Autocomplete search with navigation panes for treatment summaries, drug monographs and medicinal products Powerful interactions checker Clinical content updated every month Update notifications when a new update is available Optimised for smart phones and tablets You do not need an NHS Athens username in order to access the new app. You can learn more from the BNF & BNFc App FAQs provided by the publisher . The existing NICE BNF & BNFc app will no longer be updated and is likely to be withdrawn by the end of the year.

Photocopier Changes

The photocopiers we have provided by our NHS partners will be replaced due to changes in supplier. Coin Operated Photocopier This is expected to be out of action from today (Friday 14 th July). Please come to the counter if you need to pay for your photocopying with cash. NHS-Supplied Photocopiers These are located on the left-hand-side in the photocopying room. These will be removed at a future date and eventually replaced from new suppliers. Keele-Supplied Photocopier This is the photocopier on the right-hand-side in the photocopying room. There is no change to this machine. It will accept payment from both Keele cards and NHS library membership cards.

Saturday maintenance work 15 July 2017 (Keele University)

We have been made aware of the following Keele IT maintenance that may affect computer access: "This note concerns the second set of tests to be conducted on Saturday July 15th. Some disruption will be experienced between 07:00 and the early evening. You can access the library’s extensive collection of ebooks online. We include many of our popular titles as ebooks. eBooks: are accessible 24/7 do not need to be requested do not incur fines are a good option if working away from the CEC Most of our ebooks are accessible via the Library Search catalogue. Here’s how to find an ebook… Find an ebook on Library Search Go to Library Search and select the “Search Books and More” tab, enter your search terms and click the search button. Your search results will be presented below the search box. To limit the results to ebooks only, select the filter option “Full Text Online”. Update to Ebsco Medline Subscription for NHS Users

We have changed our subscription to the Ebsco Medline database from the "Complete" version to the "Full-Text" version. Note: You may now not be able to access the full-text of some ejournals you used before The Full-text version does not mean that all journals it contains are available as current full-text journals You can access all NHS subscribed resources from our healthcare Resources web page .
